Viture And Cyberpunk 2077 Team Up For Limited Edition XR Glasses

2025/12/10 19:56

Viture is marking the fifth anniversary of Cyberpunk 2077 with a limited edition set of XR video display glasses, a collaboration with game publisher CD Projekt Red. Lightweight display wearables are gaining traction among gamers who want big screen immersion without a headset, and Viture, the leading video display glasses in games, according to IDC. The Cyberpunk 2077 partnership is an example of the glasses maker’s integration into the game industry.

The Cyberpunk 2077 themed display glasses will have a limited run of 10,000 serialized units, just like any other Cyberpunk 2077 collectible. The glasses feature a semi translucent housing designed with Polish game developer CD Projekt Red’s art team. The look draws directly from the visual language of Night City, where the game takes place. Inside Viture’s frame is the same display system used in their $599 Luma Ultra model.

Sony micro OLED panels create a virtual screen of one hundred fifty two inches with a one hundred twenty hertz refresh rate and brightness up to fifteen hundred nits. Which means it’s bright, even when outside without the sunshades. The glasses are compatible with Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, Legion Go, MSI Claw and other Windows based portables. Owners of the upcoming Switch 2 can pair the glasses with Viture’s Pro Mobile Dock for full screen play.

Viture is also pushing an AI based Immersive 3D mode that converts flat content into layered depth in real time. The feature draws inspiration from Braindance sequences inside Cyberpunk 2077, which depict hyper vivid memories and recorded experiences. The collaboration comes as Viture’s competitor Xreal seems to be turning its attention to games after focusing previous models of their display glasses on productivity and entertainment. A recent hands-on report from Road to VR describes a full Android XR environment running on Xreal’s new Aura video display glasses. Like Viture’s Spacewalker app, Xreal has a spatial interface with window controls, hand tracking and an application layer designed for gaming and media consumption.

Cyberpunk 2077 remains one of the most recognizable entertainment properties of the past decade. It feeds a large modding community who are a natural for video display glasses. A partnership with a game of this size carries more weight than the usual limited edition hardware bundle.

Google’s roll out of Aura on Xreal “sometime in 2026” is a harbinger of what’s about to unfold as video display glasses come into popular culture as an accessory for mobile gaming. We will hear more about this at CES, where they’re expected to demo the glasses.

Both Viture and Xreal are especially good companions for mobile handheld gaming on devices like the switch and steam deck. Switch remains the most successful handheld platform ever created. Steam recently announced its new Steam Machine, one of a new class of devices that sit somewhere between a game console and a windows computer. Viture gave select press private demos of their mobile computer that is worn as a neckband. Xreal uses a puck to offload computing.

The Viture and Cyberpunk 2077 gives players a physical object that feels rooted in the game’s world and it reinforces the momentum behind display glasses as a practical extension of modern gaming.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
