A GOP-controlled House Oversight Committee spokesperson told NBC News Chairman Comer would consult with Republican members and the Department of Justice about the status of Bondi's deposition subpoena. Fox News host Shannon Bream noted Democrats would likely persist in seeking testimony.
A Fox Business anchor criticized the Trump administration's broken promises on Epstein file transparency, noting initial pledges of information had yielded nothing. The anchor said, "There were these big promises...big promises of information and then it always seemed like it," adding, "It was a thud, a dud. Nothing happened."
He characterized the administration's approach as "obfuscation" rather than transparency, undermining expectations for public disclosure of Epstein-related documents.
